Is The Total One The One for You?
For 2010, Bauer has released a fully revamped line up in the Supreme model series. Leading the pack would be the Bauer Supreme Total One- the lightest most technologically advanced skate in Bauer’s eighty two year history! This gravity defying hockey skate is basically a F1 race car for your feet.
The most acknowledgeable feature within the Total One skate would be its sub 700 gram weight. You might think that when comparing with other top end skates (that tilt the scale in excess of 850 grams), 150 grams or so per skate isn’t that much. To put that weight savings into perspective, throughout the length of a game that reduced weight is accumulating into hundreds of pounds. That translates into less energy wasted, giving you an edge over the competition, and transferring more power to the ice.
Other mentionable features would be: 1) The new LS Fusion blade is 27% lighter than the LS 2 steel. They achieve this by combining stainless steel with aluminum. 2)The boot also boast a new Reflex tongue that has customizable stiffeners, which provide a spring back feel between strides that enhance your momentum. 3) the full quarter of the boot is constructed of composite carbon fiber.
The Anaform fit of the skate provides less negative space forming around your foot giving you a locked in place fit. Once properly moulded to your foot the skate will truly have a 360 degree fit. After having skated on this beauty you’ll be left wondering if you even have anything on your feet! It feels that natural.
